Suzanne Lock founded our family-operated business in 2010, starting as a small part-time operation with just one laptop in a home office. Since then, we have expanded into a four-person family team with offices in rural Nacton, Suffolk.

A Word From Sue
Hello! I'm Sue, the founder of Suzanne Lock Business Services. Let me share a bit about my journey with you.

I kicked off my career right after leaving school, working with HSBC.
​
That's where I first discovered my passion for accounting and business. But my entrepreneurial spirit led me to start my own enterprise: the first Surf Shop in Colchester town, right when the industry was nearing its peak. How times have changed!
​
Running my own business proved to be an invaluable learning experience. I surfed the highs and lows of business ownership, handling the day-to-day finances.
Profits surged, taxes were paid, and books were kept, but like all markets, the surf scene shifted, and it fell out of fashion.
​
Needing to provide for my family, I joined a small advertising agency as a part-time bookkeeper. With ten years of hard work and studying in my spare time for my AAT & CIMA qualifications, I eventually became the head finance director for the company.
​
In 2010, I made the exciting decision to launch my own accounting and bookkeeping practice.
It's been a prosperous journey, allowing me to grow the business into a small family office. Today, both my daughter Emma and son James are full-time employees.
​
I continue to lead the day-to-day operations as the head accountant and director, always working to provide for my family.
It's been a journey filled with change, growth, and most of all, love for what I do.
